Building a Website - The BIG misconceptions

It all sounds simple enough, you get some pictures of your products, type some text that sounds good, you find a cheap hosting company and publish it to the www (World Wide Web), tell your friends and they all go and have a look at your work of art ... but after the first week or two, your wonderful web site and it's cool design just sit there, it does not generate any internet traffic, the page counter seems to have a dead battery as it has not moved to two weeks now. You call up some friends and they all go and have a look and sure enough the page counter springs back to life, then it stops again, the phone does not ring and you walk away frustrated that the internet is not all it is supposed to be.

If you are a small business and were hoping your cool web design might bring some more cash flow into your already struggling business let me tell you it can, but there is so much more to successful web design than most people realize, the coding, keywords, search engine optimization ( SEO ), size, content and audience all dictate how well your website will work.
