The van Aaken Smart Box ™ R for the 24 valve Cummins: The van Aaken Smart Box™ R gives the 24v Cummins engine a huge improvement in power and torque across the rev-range which significantly improves acceleration times. At 2000 rpm up to an extra 60 hp and 167 lbs ft of torque are available. The extra torque in the low to medium rev-range is very useful for maintaining speed, particularly on inclines and when towing. On winding roads and in traffic where you maybe constantly adjusting your speed, the wider power band and improved response mean less down-changes are necessary. When overtaking, particularly at freeway speeds, the increased mid-range punch and extended top end power help drive you past slower vehicles with much less drama. Engine Reliability; f or Improved Efficiency. The van Aaken Smart Box™ R advances the injection timing as well as increasing fuel delivery. Advancing the injection timing improves the efficiency of the engine which helps to reduce Exhaust Gas Temperatures (EGTs) and improves throttle response and power output. EGTs play a crucial part in diesel engine reliability and the van Aaken Smart Box™ R keeps them close to stock levels - even with the extra power. Pump Reliability; the Pump Limit is for a reason. The rotary VP44 Diesel Injection Pump used on the 24v Cummins engine is not as strong as the older in-line type and so has an electronic limit to the amount of fuel it can deliver. Devices that are hard-wired into the pump after the electronic section can exceed the pump limit but at the expense of pump reliability. The van Aaken SmartBox™ R Plugs-in between the electronic section of the pump and the ECU and so is specially programmed to reach this limit, when appropriate, but to never try and breach it. This ensures that the van Aaken Smart Box™ R places no more strain on the pump than it has been designed to cope with. |

The van Aaken Smart Box™ V5 for the 24 valve Cummins engine has been developed to give the maximum power and torque available without causing excessive exhaust smoke or compromising the reliability of the Bosch Diesel Injection Pump.
We gain power and torque with the van Aaken Smart Box™ V5 by tuning two factors – injection quantity and injection timing. Each factor is carefully re-mapped right across the engine speed and load range to provide the ideal combination under all conditions, providing excellent drivability with maximum power.
Connecting at the vehicle diagnostic plug means that the van Aaken Smart Box™ V5 will not disturb the connection for the high pressure injection pump. A selection of adaptors supplied with the unit enable fitting for any combination of vehicle diagnostic plug and MAP sensor plug shapes.
The built in Boost De-Limiter gives the user the option to raise the vehicle boost pressure mechanically without the worry of upsetting the vehicle ECU. The advanced injection timing helps to keep exhaust temperatures down to near stock levels, while improving throttle response and power output |

The van Aaken SmartBox™ C3.2 is a digital device that alters the quantity of fuel injected into the 2003-2004 5.9L Dodge Cummins through changes to the Injector Pulse Width, with absolutely no change to the fuel pressure. These changes are carefully mapped to minimize black smoke and hold EGTs to a safe level.
The van Aaken SmartBox™ C3.1 is a digital device that alters the quantity of fuel injected into the 2003 5.9L Dodge Cummins through changes to the fuel pressure. This engine is fitted as standard with a fuel pressure relief valve designed to keep the pressure to a safe working level. Our unit is carefully tuned to always work within this operating range set by the manufacturer, avoiding strain on the pump or other fuel components.
These changes combine to give amazing gains in power and torque. Changes to the fueling are fully mapped across the load and RPM range to give smooth, manageable power delivery all the way from idle to full power. The built in boost fooler function also allows the user to mechanically raise the boost pressure without the worry of engine management faults. |

The Power Pup downloader works on both the 03-04 Dodge Common Rail Cummins and the new 04.5 Cummins 600. The Power Pup is built to increase horsepower and torque by re-flashing the ECU with performance tuned programs. It does this by plugging into the OBDII port that is located underneath the dash. The Power Pup gives the user the choice between upgrading to a Tow (50hp), Performance (90hp) or Extreme (130hp). Race Pro is achieved by attaching this box to the Bosch fuel pump wire and into the ISB engine data port as well as to the turbo boost sensor plug. You can select from 5 different power settings from 40 to 120 rear wheel horse power on the touch sensitive front face plate. The box simply mounts under the dash. Each power level also has an embedded submenu that can be accessed by holding down the on/off button. The fuel rating can be altered or delayed to match large injectors or big turbos. This box not only amplifies the fuel solenoid signal, but also manages the injection timing and turbo boost to keep temperatures and black smoke at a minimum, but power at its maximum.
Xtreme Drag 1/4 mile or sled pulling calibration is available. |

For 2000.5 - 2003 Dodge Ram’s Powered by Cummins Diesels The BD Racer Anti De-fueler over rides the Cummins torque management system that limits a high rate of vehicle performance. When 1/4 mile racing with the Cummins 24 valve engine, the Cummins computer limits the amount of torque put out by the engine. This torque management results in a reduction of power that can be felt as a quick momentary decrease of power throughout first and second gear. This drastically hurts your 1/4 mile time and as well seriously jeopardizes your engines drivetrain.
BD’s Racer Anti De-fueler applies to most 2000.5 and newer Xtreme Performance automatic trucks used for 1/4 mile racing. A toggle switch is also included for you to select street mode or race.

The Plug n Power manipulates' the engine tuning parameters through the Can-Bus communication channels. This method of communication is what separates the products offered in North America. These boards have the ability to alter the time of injection and amount of fuel injected while keeping your engine temperatures down when pulling out horsepower increases. Turbo boost control is monitored and tuned to signal the fuel pump to keep working when it normally pulls back because of the stock boost pressure ceiling. No extra fuel is supplied until turbo boost is present ensures no smoke at bottom end.
Separate Turbo boost fittings and waste gate X hooks that capture more turbo boost are also available.
The Plug n Power plugs snap on to the rear of the Bosch fuel pump and onto the MAP sensor. 60 Horsepower programs that have been CARB tested for trailer towing or high
altitude operation are in stock.
For race applications that use XXX Pulse High Flow Injectors or even propane-boosted engines can have customer tailored tuning chosen from the 14+ special files. Calibration centers around the country can program the PnP for your application. |

Test Cell Conditions
The test cell is arranged to test the engines under ideal conditions relating to the diesel fuel delivery system. The test cell fuel tanks are stationary and located six (6) to ten (10) feet above the engine. This setup provides two things that do not exist in the real world. One, positive fuel pressure to the injection pump. Two, diesel fuel free from fuel vapor and entrained air. This is directly related to the stationary fuel tank. With no agitation there is virtually no entrained air in the fuel and with the fuel being at a positive pressure to the pump, no fuel vapor is being produced!!
Real World Conditions
In the real world, the fuel tanks are usually mounted at least two (2) feet below and ten (10) feet away from the fuel pump, This configuration creates multiple problems associated with the fuel delivery to the engine. First, the injection pump has to draw the fuel from the tank by creating a vacuum. When diesel fuel is drawn by a vacuum fuel vapor is produced. Second, while the vehicle is underway the fuel is sloshing around in the fuel tanks creating entrained air. This circumstance has created a situation far from the test cell conditions which results in air and vapor being mixed in with the fuel when it is delivered to the injector. By having entrained air and air vapor in the fuel the engine does not perform at the engine manufacturer's specification. Air and fuel vapor occupy the space that should have pure fuel, thus delaying the injection of fuel into the combustion chamber. This phenomenon is better known as "RETARDED TIMING." The air/vapor present in fuel is very inconsistent making it virtually impossible to adapt the varying degrees of changes in injection timing. The retarded injections cause a multitude of problems in the combustion chamber!

Xzillaraider The Xzillaraider for the Common Rail Cummins is unlike any module ever produced for this great engine. The Xzillaraider module uses cutting edge technology to modify fuel pressure, injection timing, fuel pulse width and boost tables. In fact it is so cutting edge that it is patent pending!

Digital Processing Using state of the art digital processing allows us to sample engine and fueling parameters faster than any other product on the market. Using this technology, we are able to tune fueling curves and injection timing curves with precision. This gives you optimized efficiency for better fuel mileage and low exhaust temperatures, as well as that extra low end torque and horsepower you are looking for.
Injection Timing The Xzillaraider alters injection timing in a much different manner than other brands. While we do not create timing maps, we dynamically alter the injection timing by modifying signals that are specifically related to injection timing. The advantage to altering timing in this manner is that we never over-advance the timing out of the vehicles given range. This allows us the benefits of adavance injection timing without setting engine lights or having the reduced liability of altering such a sensitive circuit. We are only changing the timing within the engines own parameters. This means we never advance over maximum timing, but the injection timing is added where it is needed for lower exhaust temperatures and better fuel mileage.
While we always recommend exhaust temperature monitoring, we offer you these power gains with the lowest exhaust temperature available. The Xzillaraider also offers boost "blocking" in all levels, including the off position. This allows us to raise the boost levels without the computer knowing about it. This is especially important for those that plan on doing more modifications at a later date.
While we can't give all of our secrets away, we know that the second you drive with an Xzillaraider module, there will be no doubt that it is what you are looking for.
